Alice In Chains to Play Soundwave Festival 2009, New Album On the Way

Alert! ALICE IN CHAINS, minus Layne Staley of course, will kick off 2009 with a main stage slot on Australia’s Soundwave Festival (February 21-March 1) alongside acts such as NINE INCH NAILS and LAMB OF GOD.

There’s also a new record on the way – it’ll be the band’s first studio album since 1995. The band is:

Jerry Cantrell (Vocals/Lead Guitar)
Mike Inez (Bass)
Sean Kinney (Drums)
William Duvall (Vocals/Guitar)

All four are hunkered down in a Los Angeles studio crafting their latest opus. It will be produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Stone Sour),
