The Faceless Post New Song Online

Deathcore fans rejoice, THE FACELESS have posted a new song online entitled “Coldly Calculated Design” online over at their official MySpace page. The track comes off the band’s forthcoming new album, Planetary Duality, which is set to be released on November 11th via Sumerian Records. To be honest though, you’d probably be better off just picking up a copy of Noctambulant by SPAWN OF POSSESSION instead of listening to scene kids rip them off.

Half of the news on this site has barely anything to do with metal, yet if there is a story about a metal band that doesn’t fit a certain criteria of trveness and br00tality, than it is passed off as deathcore for scene kids. Fuck that, and by this site’s standard, The Faceless are worthy of mockery yet Staind is worthy of a 7/10 album review? Am I missing something here?

The Faceless are more Tech Death than anything. I don’t care if they have breakdowns. Suffocation and Dying Fetus do to, people don’t just call them core right away.
The whole Deathcore argument notwithstanding….the songs use a few trademark Spawn of Possession riffs though.
I dont classify a band as deathcore if they just have a couple of breakdowns an album. A breakdown does serve a purpose and can be awsome at the right time. The Faceless are tech-death metal. Despised Icon, Suicide Silence and Whitechapel are deathcore since they abuse the breakdown. The Faceless arent scene either. Hot Topic arent promoting their shit and I never see people with their merch walking around. And at the Summer Slaughter date I went to the past 2 years The Faceless were a largely unknown band
This band is scene as fuck. too many breakdowns and tight pants. it sounds like they just to a SOP or Necrophagists album and made it shitty, put key boards and breakdowns in are try to pass it off. its designed for mall kids.

I prefer The Faceless because they have better production and a better vocalist than Spawn of Possession. I’ve seen The Faceless three times and none of them wear tight pants and they got rid of their keyboard player. They also have maybe three breakdowns that are each like six seconds long on their entire Akeldama album, save for Leica. Whether or not they write songs that are similar to SoP, they are talented musicians and songwriters.
News sites are supposed to post facts. If you want to add some of your opinion, that’s fine. However, when you do it, make sure that you know what the fuck you’re talking about.

And designed for mall kids? I actually work at a very large mall, and the 3% of people I do see sporting anything metal. Its usually mainstream shit, like Slipknot, Korn,Slayer, or Iron Maiden.
Mall kids dont get down on shit this progressive and heavy. At least not the 30,000 + i see walking around on the weekends.

The Faceless are a terrific tech death band, and the new tracks are just fine. I’m old (50), been around, and don’t care much for ‘metalhead’ tags like ’scenecore’, ‘deathcore’, ‘mallcore’, ‘bigboarcore’. The music is complex, precise, and interesting, that’s all that matters.
