Study Calls Metalheads Lazy, Introverted, with Low Self Esteem

A new study linking music tastes to types of music has been released by Edinburgh, Scotland based University Heriot-Watt. Presumably tired of awful weather and with nothing better to do, over 36,000 people were surveyed and studied.

The results brand fans of heavy metal and rock as individuals with “Low self-esteem, creative, not hard-working, not outgoing, gentle, at ease”.

What in the hell is Heriot-Watt?

Also, I wouldn’t take this study seriously. Scottish “moshers” have a pretty bad rep and Glasgow is the stab capital of Europe, even moreso with Scotland’s utterly failing economy.

    HA, what a gay study.

    It’s true though.

I mean isn’t this a stereotype. So everyone that listens to metal is the same? Everyone that listens to country has the same traits? Everyone that listens to rap has the same personality. I’ve been to many concerts where I can see how people are very different that enjoy the same music.

It’s pretty true, most metalheads you meet are the nicest people… then you have the people that listen to rap are typically the “full of them self tough guy douche bags” or “gangsta thugs from da hood” (and they’re usually white)

i like how they lump rock and heavy metal into the same category, but separate indie from it

I say it is about time we identified the weak links in our society and exterminate these groups that drag our economy down.

  8. me says:

wait, so metal kids are gentle but indie kids arent?

  9. Nick says:

    yea, makes no sense

Its funny how Metal and Indie are the only ones that really got negative results, but everything else was pretty much normal…

Scottish people pissed off that their accents suck. Typical.

Oh and those results are rubbish.
