I really hope no one thinks DragonForce is a “serious” band. They are supposed to be fun, I mean really people, pull the stick out. I’m excited for both.

Just to start with Dragonforce does not suck. You may not like them personally but any person who argues that they are not highly talented musicians is just plain ignnorant or on this site maybe just plaing stupid. Yes, I am aware they are cheesey but to call them cheesy and not Turisas is just plain ridiculous. Thats worse than the pot calling the kettle black. If you dont like them becuase you just arent into that, thats fine and great. Its stupid to think they will have problems with filling venues. Did anybody commenting on this try to go to their first North American tour? it sold out most venues. As far as lamb of god not filling a 3000 seat club. I saw Lamb of god (with KSE) in Norfolk an hour frrom their home town. Guess what? It didnt sell out it didnt even come close and that was a 1500 person venue. So your comparison falls some what short. And just a small tid bit to digest but it probably doesnt mean much to this crowd: Dragonforce is one of the few bands to tour europe with Iron Maiden and not get booed off the stage
Don’t mistake talent for speed. For someone to be considered a talented musician, they must not only be able to play their instrument, but also able to fuse creativity and technique together, and Dragonforce fails at either of them.
All I can say is, go find the video of Herman and Sam’s Betcha Can’t Play This they did with guitar world.
Then watch the videos with dudes like Chris Broderick, Michael Romeo, and various others.
Dragonforce is plain sloppy and just because you can play fast doesn’t make it good. No amount of protools tweaking in the studio can make you a great guitar player. They have the banner on this site saying true guitar heroes, and they thank themselves for being awesome and claiming they don’t need to practice because when you can do it once, then you can do it at any time. They are cocky as shit and all their songs are the exact same formula with random breaks to include really bad harmonics/whammy bar whanking. You just can’t fake that stuff when there are guys like Mattias Eklundh doing the real thing.
why is no site mentioning powerglove is opening?? its on dragonforce’s and powerglove’s myspaces and on venue pages…..

robw talked about Powerglove, yeah they are opening the show, they do instrumental, power-metal style covers of video game songs (like final fantasy, mario bros, mega man, zelda), pretty cool (and hilarious)! i saw Turisas last time they came in North america, it was great! and for Dragonforce, everybody say they suck live (especially on youtube), but strangely enough, all the people i know who saw them live said it was awesome, so i’m curious to see and hear it for myself… anyways, i’m really excited for this tour, gonna be a kick-ass show!

Get the Fuck over yourselves. Bands can play whatever music they like, if you don’t like it fuck off and don’t listen, I’m sure their not losing a good listener or anything. If you like bands changing thier playing to suit people’s tastes, you promote “selling Out”, bands that play true to themselves are the best. Listen to Dragonforce if you want to hear what that sounds like.
