New Killswitch Engage Album in 2009?

In Chris Harris’ recent MTV Metal File, it is being reported that KILLSWITCH ENGAGE are set to start work on their next studio effort in October, with bassist Mike D’Antonio also stating that there’s a chance side project OVERCAST could also release new material down the line. What is going on right now? I dont believe anyone can “hate” killswitch. As daylight Dies, produced by the guitarist in their band, recorded it in just 3 months. Do you have any idea how amazing that is? And not to mention, every song on that album is fucking GENIUS. I’ve been listening to them ever since I heard them when they had Jesse in the band. They were so good back then and they get better and better.
I cant wait till the new KSE album, its going to kick ass!

I’m way excited for the new KSE album. I hope it is not a disappointment, like the recently released “Suicide Season” of BMTH. I was way pumped for that one, and it sucked balls.

Who the fuck cares? It’s music.
Not everyone’s going to like it, and some people are going to like it more than others.
But what does it say about you when you’re posting bulletins belittling people for what they like? Honestly, what kind of person does that?
Music isn’t measured by fans, or by how underground, technique, originality, or anything like that. Good music is measured by opinion, so it’s not going to ever be agreed upon. Save your breath.
The FACT of the matter is, KsE is a band full of originators, and hard working musicians. I think just about each of them have their own side projects that they work on (Isn’t Adam D still doing Aftershock?)
Howard Jones books and manages bands while pulling double duty in KsE and BHBS (and I think Justin Foley still drums for them? I’m not sure, not a really big follower of the band).
Adam D. produces a SHITLOAD of bands, that a lot of the KsE-haters enjoy, so even if they don’t know it, they’re enjoying a piece of KsE subliminally.
Mike D. does design work for another shitload of bands, while pulling double duty with Overcast and KsE. So hey, you may hate the music that KsE puts out, but it’s still pretty funny that you’re likely to own a T-Shirt or CD that our bassist designed. So why not shut the hell up?
I’m not sure what Joel does on the side.
As for not being metal? Give me a break. Chug riffs? Uhh, yeah, popular metal trait, so you really can’t say that KsE ISN’T metal, and that you’re tired of their “chugs in every song”.
Not to mention, the band as a whole has paved the way for other bands who, until Killswitch broke out, was afraid to have fun on stage, and do what they wanted to creatively with their music, because they were so scared of branching out and expressing themselves freely. Why? I’m not sure.
But I’m pretty sure it had nothing to do with the “l33t h4xx0rz” on message boards who’d bash them for singing in a chorus when they’re expected to scream and belt out garbage, melody-be-damned.
Let’s not even mention what the band’s been through, that they’ve survived a lead singer switch, only to become MORE successful, and potentially survive 3 more CDs, and almost 6 years of touring.
Time signature changes, music theory, live performance, success, and not to mention they’re still pretty level headed, cool as ice guys. I can’t really think of a better band.
But then again, what do I know? Bottom line is, who cares if you like them or not? Leave the kids who do alone, because online message board feuds lost their style and grace back in like, ‘98.

Killswitch is one of the most successful bands ever and one of the best bands ever. If you don’t like them, then go listen to your fuckin hannah montana, or whatever the hell it is you listen to.
Like Matty said, its based on opinion. So, even if you don’t like them, millions of others do, so shut the fuck up, and grow up.
I don’t give a fuck to what your definition of “good music” or “BR00TALZ” is. KSE whether you like it or not, has something that draws people to them. Respect that and move on. After all being jealous or putting out hate does nothing, they don’t care and certainly fans don’t care.
HOLYYYYYY guys/ girl. Killswitch is a tigh band, and they make music for everyone… there really tight live, they have a great sounding studio, and they are original. howards perfect live, mikes got sweet stage presence, adams just funny and makes gay riffs (in a good way…arms or sorrow) mike d makes sweet riffs and brings the metal genre to the band. you cant say that killswitch is a bad band… u just cant
