Joey Jordison Breaks Ankle
Probably not the start that the band wanted, but due to Joey Jordison of SLIPKNOT breaking his ankle, the band have been forced on a 6 week week hiatus. This will affect their participation at all European Festival dates including Reading and Leeds this weekend.
In the meantime, the band will be on Rockline, a US radio show, with a special “no-call” show. They will be playing everything from the new record All Hope Is Gone, which comes out that day. Rockline will also be streaming online.
A MySpace update reads as follows:
“To Our Fans: It is with huge regret and disappointment that we have been forced to cancel our imminent European festival appearances at Leeds, Reading, 2 Days a Week, Area 4, as well as exclusive performances for MTV Europe and Virgin TV. The other night, Joey Jordison broke his ankle and doctors have advised Joey to stay off his leg for 4-6 weeks to prevent further injury or permanent and more serious damage.
We know you will be hugely disappointed and so are we. Canceling shows is never an easy decision and we apologize to all our fans, friends and family for not being there to throw down with you. We will be back in Europe this November and can’t wait to see you all then.

Saw them at the hartford Mayhem this weekend and corey was sayin that joey had sprained his ankle but was still going to play. the show was flawless. apparently the dj had busted both his feet jumping from one of the stage props, too, but was also still playing… don’t really need feet to dj though, lol
I was also at Hartford for the Mayhem Fest Show. and Joey was pretty much flawless.

Hes a good drummer, but they really do suck. In 1999 they were an edgy, mainstream take on nu metal. I know rubin helped their sound, and i know as players, the core of the group can play. (DJ and trash can beaters withstanding.) And hell, corey taylor is a decent vocalist. But they write shitty music. maybe id take them more seriously if icp kids didnt love them as well.
First of all, Nathan is one of the best drummers in metal. Second, you people who disrespect musicians like SlipKnoT are puss-bitches. I do not see any of you going on stage and putting yourself out to the world performing songs that you and your friends write together. I Watched Slipknot in Toronto, man what a show, i fought over Jordison’s drumstick, why you ask, CAUSE HE IS THE BEST F_ING DRUMMER iN THE WORLD and for those who dont agree, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF< i dont give 2 $hits what you think, you prolly listen to slayer or some gay ass $hit, the only one ive seen that compares to Joey’s talent is Gene Hogan and still i think Joeys better because he structures the tunes so good and makes you feel like lsmashing shit lol
