Slipknot Blamed for South African Slaying
SLIPKNOT have spoken out exclusively to Blender rejecting blame in a South African school slaying.
On Monday, a teen entered his high school in Krugersdorp, South Africa with a sword and attacked four people, killing one. The suspect was said to be wearing a mask similar to the one worn by Slipknot’s drummer Joey Jordison, prompting a school official to denounce the band, saying “We know the wrong kind of music and drugs have bad effects. Young people need to be informed of the effects of bad satanic music.”
SLIPKNOT lead screamer Corey Taylor has responded. “Obviously, I’m disturbed by the fact that people were hurt and someone died. As far as my responsibility for that goes, it stops there, because I know our message is actually very positive.” He continues,”You have something like this happen, it could have been Marilyn Manson, it could have been any number of people who make art that is startling visually, on the darker side. It could’ve been Pat Boone, for Christ’s sake.”

Jordisons mask is heavily inspired by japanese culture. Its a dramatic kubuiki theatre emotionless white face mask. The kid attacked people with a fucking sword. Could he have possiblity liked the idea of the samuri. I’m positive I have seen numerous movies, which showcased charecters killing others with swords while wearing those masks. These images, to me at least, are 1000 times more revalent. How the hell was the band even mentoned? I mean, was he wearing a slipknot shirt too?
