Batman film The Dark Knight has set a box office record for best opening weekend ever at the US box office, distributor Warner Bros has said.

The sequel took $155.3m (£77.7m) surpassing the previous opening weekend record set by Spider-Man 3 last year, which took $151.1m (£75.5m).
Batman, which opened on Friday, took $66.4m (£33.2m), which was also a single-day box office record. Directed by Christopher Nolan, it cost $185m (£92.5m) to make.

i don’t like it when they say it’s a record for the largest grossing movie because look how much ticketprices have risen in 20 yrs how much do you think E.T. or Star Wars would have made if they had todays ticket prices
unhappy wrote:
Yep, they should count the entries instead.

Great movie, but the first one was better. Should’ve called this The Joker Show.

Great film . I thought it was better than Batman Begins. Awesome performance; more intense. This time you could actually see the fight choreography instead of all jump cuts. by Ledger and Eckhard.

thanks Namaste.

The movie will do great and he will get an oscar cuz he’s dead, F*ckin drug addict
Wally wrote:
Please, he was not addicted to drugs. He was just a great actor. Do you seriously have shit against this movie? I mean I’m picky when it comes to movies, and this was one of those rare flicks that’s a big-budget monster but doesn’t let that get in the way of having a plot and characterization and moral and abstract dilemma. I mean, shit. Do you want the fucking Oscar instead? Who the fuck do you think should get it? I admit I went in biased, but it wasn’t Ledger’s voice or knifeplay that did it for me. It was that little tick that he pulled off with smacking his lips every once in a while. That little thing really caught my attention. That’s the attention to detail, the life, that gets an Oscar.
