Despised Icon Part Ways With Bassist, Announce Replacement
Montreal deathcore act DESPISED ICON have announced the departure of bassist Sebastien Piché. “We’re all sad to see Sebastien go,” the band says in a statement. “He’s been with us since the very start, dedicating over six years of his life to this band. With his first child on the way, a new house and a real full-time job, Seb decided he could no longer sustain the touring lifestyle. We’re all proud of everything he’s accomplished and thankful for his contribution to DESPISED ICON. Merci pour tout man!”
The group adds, “Stepping in on bass is our friend Max Lavelle from GORATORY. Our guitarist Al [Glassman] and him have known each other for over 10 years and have shared quite a few bands together. After filling in for Seb on the last four tours, Max proved to be the ideal guy for the job. He’s got it all, from mad bass skills to big muscles. Welcome on board Max!”
