OZZFEST 2008 is officially back - for one day only. The all day festival will take place at the oddly named Pizza Hut Park in [as predicted] Dallas, Texas. It will mark OZZY OSBOURNE’s only US performance of the year, and will feature three stages, plus the regular sidebar entertainment.

The lineup for this years event is as follows:
Main Stage

Metallica
——————
Serj Tankian (solo)
Hell Yeah!
Jonathan Davis (solo)
Cavalera Conspiracy
Shadows Fall
Apocalyptica
In This Moment
…plus “all star” Dimebag Darrell tribute
Second Stage
Sevendust
Devildriver
Kingdom of Sorrow
Soilent Green
Witchcraft
Goatwhore
Third Stage (”Texas Stage”)
The Sword
Drowning Pool
Rigor Mortis
Tickets for this year’s OZZFEST will go on sale Saturday, May 31. You can read the full press release here.

What a way for Ozzy to say “fuck you” to his fans by giving us one date in fuckin’ Texas!

Looks like Ozzfest can’t compete with other tour packages this summer. There probably won’t be a SOTU tour this year either.

I have no interest in taking a road trip.

How is this a ‘fuck you’ to the fans? Is Ozzy Osbourne somehow ‘obligated’ to arrange you a full-scale US mega festival tour?
For the record I would have went had that been a traditional Ozzfest.

Yeeeah…Rockstar Mayhem it is this year. As much as I wanna see Metallica again, I’ll just wait until their own headline tour.

Dissapointing, iver been going to this since 97. the line up is ok, but would have gone if it hit my area. I think its a bitch ass way to go out on ozzy’s part. if he doesnt want to do it anymore, just say its the last one, do a full tour, and let the fans have one last ozzfest….
robw wrote:
rumor was sounds of the underground got canceled because of competition from ozzfest and mayhem fest, with ozzfest not being a TOUR anymore, i wonder if sounds is back on….. interesting……

Replace Sevendust with the The Sword, and the second stage is awesome. That lineup should be a tour. But fuck this show, plenty of other better tours/shows throughout the summer that beat it.

the main stage is awesome! In this moment is metal. I got AIDS from their guitar player

I just think that for it being Ozzfest and for them to make it a one day festival, there needs to be more bands on the bill. Look at the giant festivals all around the world and you notice this tour is lacking alot

how the fuck did they get Witchcraft and Rigor Mortis on this?

second stage is actualy decent, but i’ll save an assload of money and wait for their respected tours

”FUCK” MAN THIS LINE UP SUCKS EXCEPT FOR GOATWHORE, OZZY AND ZAKK WYLDE BUT IT AIN’T WORTH A SHIT C’MON OZZY YOU CAN DO IT BETTER OR JUST CARE ‘BOUT THE MONEY

For all you fucking retards that said this lineup sucked. This was by far the best Ozzfest that i have been to for the past six years. Ozzy alone was on stage for three hours and thirty minutes. Metallica started at midnight and didnt finish until 4 in the morning. The Dimebag tribute was about 3 hours long. Included Anthrax, members of Biohazard, Jerry Cantrell, and alot of other people. The only disappointment of the whole night was Sevendust. The music was good from them but they really didnt seem like they were into it.
