Opiate for the Masses - Manifesto

Filming for the sequel of cult flick Donnie Darko will begin on May 18. Chris Fisher (of Nightstalker, Rampage: The Hillside Strangler Murders fame) will direct the film, shooting on an estimated $10mm budget. Original Donnie Darko director Richard Kelly will, however, not be involved.

Daviegh Chase reprises her role as Donnie’s younger sister. The cast for S. Darko also includes Ed Westwick (Son of Rambow, Gossip Girl), Briana Evigan (Step Up 2 the Streets) and Justin Chatwin (Dragonball).

The story picks up seven years after the first film when little sister Samantha Darko and her best friend Corey are now 18 and on a roadtrip to Los Angeles when they are plagued by bizarre visions.

There’s no doubt this is going straight to video. Fisher is one of the worst directors on the planet, he’s Uwe Boll bad.
