Summer ‘Mayhem’ Tour Hitting 30 Amphitheatres

Billboard.com reports: The Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour, with SLIPKNOT and DISTURBED topping the bill, will play 30 Live Nation amphitheaters in North America during July and August. News of the tour was first reported earlier this month by Billboard.com.

Rockstar Mayhem is produced by Warped founder Kevin Lyman, his partner on the Rockstar Taste Of Chaos tour John Reese, CAA’s Darryl Eaton, and Jason Garner, Live Nation Chief Executive Officer of North American Music.

Jason was real cool on this. [He] pretty much allowed us to use their facilities and create a show we wanted to present and the financial backing we needed to make the creative deals with artists that we were able to make,” Lyman tells Billboard.com. “This all came together to bring in a show at a fair ticket price for the caliber of the bands that will be on the package.”

The tour goes a long way toward filling a hard-rock niche at outdoor amphitheatres this summer, as sources say Ozzfest is expected to go out only in a limited run.

This wouldn’t fill any niche because it’s not underground.

This will be a sweet tour if Machine Head, Sevendust, and Nonpoint all end up on it. Killswitch Engage or 36 crazyfists would be nice too.

the rumored bands dont match the 2 headliners at all. dragonforce, walls of jericho, sevendust and suicide silence.
