Conelrad – feat. FATA, ex-Zao Post Entire Discography to MySpace
CONELRAD, the Pittsburgh, PA/New York City, NY duo including Jeff Gretz of From Autumn To Ashes/ex-Zao fame and Adam MacGregor of Microwaves/ex-Creation Is Crucifixion has put it’s entire discography up for download a their MySpace. The bands full length CD A Final Dissolution, 2 7-inch EP’s Bezoar and Sluts and Slobs and an out-of-print collaboration with Steve Moore (of Zombi) entitled Torus Shock Trio Sessions are up for grabs.
Jeff Gretz comments, “We’re not offering these things up for free, they’re no cheaper than if you buy the actual albums. The point being that we’re trying to make the music available and at the same time using the proceeds collected by the downloads to help fund physical releases for the people that want them. We’ll put them out ourselves. Smaller pressings, lower overhead, better packaging. We’ll release and distribute everything from this point on by ourselves. People will be able to order them FROM the band knowing that in doing so they can keep the band active.”
The band plans to open an online store for the actual releases in their soon-to-be launched website. Part of this store will be CD-R’s containing the material with orders of vinyl releases.
Gretz continues, “If people want this material we will make it available. By having direct contact with the fans as opposed to answering to a label we will be able to make music without the distractions of what somebody’s 4th quarter needs or soundscan projections dictating what that music should sound like or when or how we should operate as a band.”
