Heavy Metal Musician Found Guilty of Kidnap, Rape, Torture
A heavy metal musician was found guilty Monday of kidnapping, raping and torturing a University of Delaware student in 2003.
It took a Superior Court Jury about four hours to convict 32-year-old Ernie Carletti of two counts of first-degree rape and one count of first-degree kidnapping. Jurors acquitted him of a weapons charge.
The Maryland man faces up to two terms of life imprisonment. Superior Court Judge Jan R. Jurden did not announce a sentencing date.
