Return To Earth – To Release New Album In December
Emerging modern rock band RETURN TO EARTH, featuring ex-DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN & current COHEED AND CAMBRIA drummer Chris Pennie, will release their debut album with Bald Freak Music. Ron Scalzo, Director of A&R for Bald Freak Music, an independent record label whose growing roster includes GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist Bumblefoot & buzz-worthy pirate metal act SWASHBUCKLE, made the announcement.
“I’m thrilled to be working with Chris in both a musical & official capacity,” said Scalzo, who is also the lead singer for RETURN TO EARTH. Pennie and guitarist Brett Aveni fill out RETURN TO EARTH’s three-piece lineup. “We look forward to putting this out to the masses, and hopefully more albums to follow.” RTE is Pennie’s first official side project after taking the reins behind the drums for COHEED AND CAMBRIA earlier this year.
Drawing from the pantheon of influential acts like MUSE, NINE INCH NAILS, FOO FIGHTERS, & QUEEN, RETURN TO EARTH creates hard rock music comprised of rich & dynamic vocal harmonies, catchy guitar hooks, and a back beat provided by Pennie’s groundbreaking drum style.
“Captains of Industry” will be released by Bald Freak on December 4th, 2007, and is being distributed nationally to in-store retailers & online music vendors such as Amazon.com, CD Baby, & iTunes. The album was mixed & mastered by GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist Bumblefoot. “Captains of Industry” will be promoted to Rock and Loud Rock radio in January 2008 with live performances to follow.
