Nailed – Paul Cuthbert Departs; Jim Knights Joins the Fold
Paul Cuthbert has left UK death metallers NAILED, and has been replaced by Manchester-based shredder Jim Knights. According to an official post by NAILED, “None of the band’s gig commitments will be affected, Jim is learning the tunes at an alarmingly fast rate and we will continue stronger than ever. Our new album Hatred, Failure & The Extinction of Mankind is being looked at by a variety of labels and we shall soon be out at a shithole venue near you promoting it.”
Bassist/Vocalist Dan Cocker says: “Paul has been a member of Nailed since 2003, before I joined the band even, and has been instrumental in pushing our sound to where it is today. Unfortunately he has had problems with holding down jobs continually and it got to the point where he was being untruthful with us on a number of issues, so we felt it best to continue without him and he felt that he could not continue.”
“Jim is picking up the tunes very quickly and is adding another dimension to our sound alreayd with his leads, and once he is up to scratch with the songs we can start writing new songs. Meanwhile we are still talking to labels about releasing Hatred, Failure & The Extinction of Mankind and will get it out as soon as physically possible. Then we can spread the message of humanity’s well-deserved and inevitable demise to as large an audience as possible.”
