Looney Tunes – New York Independent Music Store Burns to Ground

Looney Tunes, one of New York’s number one independent music stores tragically burned down last Thursday, August 30 around 12:10 am. The damage inside was extensive. According to an official statement from store owners Karl and Jamie Groeger, “The inside of our store is completly gone . The CD’s, DVD’s and LP’s are gone. What is not gone are the memories we have all shared together at Looney Tunes.”

To support Looney Tunes, the store website is still 100% operational, and 100% of the sales from the site will go to the rebuilding cost of the retail store.

Best music store around. I’m so glad they plan to rebuild so quickly. They lost everything but the actual building but they aren’t even sure if they are going to stay in that spot. I wouldn’t mind if they moved. They built a fucking FYE right in front of the place. I definitely wouldn’t mind if that fucking place burned instead.

I met Lamb of God there the day Sacrament came out. I was supposed to see God Forbid there but they canceled it because the fire marshal banned them from having in-stores for a few months for exceeding capacity. I’ll definitely buy some stuff off their website.
