Fall of Troy – Manipulator
Tuesday, June 19, 2007
Fall of Troy…. ‘Problem?!’ Why yes, yes there is. It’s this album. Caught between a Norma Jean and a screamo band, Fall of Troy manages to fail miserably at usurping the noble past of the city and story they derive their name from. At first listen, you become grossly aware that Manipulator was probably written in the same amount of time it took Homer to squeeze one out on the loo while pondering what to scribe next in his Iliad. With Davey Havok’s little brother trapped inside lead singer/guitarist Thomas Erak, this backwards album is little more than a jam session that just happened to be recorded than it is a banner waving release. Fall of Troy are nothing more than a watered down math metal band. Even working with the man who produced Botch (Matt Bayles) fails to render any sense of achievement on all twelve songs. Not sure how else to put it, but, it’s rather…rubbish.

damn dude
have you ever heard fall of troy?their new album is not as good as their self titled or the one that followed, but i wouldnt give it a 1 out of 10,i dont think you should reveiw bands you dont listen to to begin with.
Oh god, man; I was maybe just as equally disappointed by Manipulator but giving it a 1/10 is just calling it complete shit! While it is most definitely lacking in ferocity and, let’s face it, all-together coherence as compared to the previous two albums, it is still The Fall Of Troy – just watered down. Though it is less than a valiant attempt, I’d at least give it a 6/10 – they got to tour off of that shit.
