Amy Winehouse – “Back to Black” Certified Gold – Returns to Billboard Top 10
AMY WINEHOUSE’s Back to Black, which was certified gold just days ago, has returned to the Top Ten of the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart this week taking the # 6 spot after a whirlwind week that saw her give a much buzzed about performance at the MTV Movie Awards on June 3, and score the covers of the current issue of Rolling Stone magazine, and the July issue of Spin Magazine. The rock mags are among the hundreds of publications and blogs that have heaped praise on the petite 23 year old British siren for her acclaimed new album, which debuted in the top ten at #7 less than 10 weeks ago, and has never hovered below the top 25 most popular album entries in this country since its release.
In her native London, AMY WINEHOUSE snagged the coveted Brit Award earlier in the year for Best Female Solo Artist, as well as a Ronnie Scotts Jazz Award for Best Jazz Crossover Album and, a garnered her second Ivor Novello Award (first win in 2003) for Best Contemporary Song for “Rehab.”
It’s starting to seem like I may be the only person who sees how terribly over-rated this fugly bitch is.
Bitch all you want, but this is a seriously talented chick. She may walk like a skank, talk like a skank, and sing like a skank, but she’s talented.
It’s not overrated when there are almost no other interesting and talented singers left. She has the best voice in pop the last 6 or 7 years. Cut her some slack.
She does have a long jew-face. Regardless, cute.
Greater singer than anyone American Idol has found? Surely, you jest!
