man, i dont know what you guys were listening to, but the new ozzy cd is another big disappointment. More recycled riffs from zakk, and lame ass balads. there might be two or three decent songs, but the rest is fuckin garbage, and it’s just way too polished on the production. Ozzy did a good job on the vocals, but thats about the only thing that i can say good about it. And the rock honors performance sucked because Zakk Wylde doesn’t know how to play a song without playing a pinched harmonic pig squeal every three notes… He fucking slaughtered crazy train once again.

I am suprised it didn’t sell more though, especially with the free tickets.

lame ass balads? it takes balls to make a one in 2007 in the metal world. Nothing at all wrong with this record.

I don’t know why people always tote the “recycled riffs” argument as if they are making a valid point. When was the last time you heard any record that didn’t have recycled riffs in it??? Everything has been done already, get over it. Even much lauded “progressive” bands like Dream Theater and Opeth constantly use recycled riffs, it’s the way of the world. I like Black Rain, and I like the riffs that Zakk is “recycling”, they rock. As for the ballads, granted they are not Ozzy’z best, but I think Lay Your Wall on Me has a pretty unique sound to it, it’s not guitar or piano driven, which is usually a staple in Ozzy’s ballads.

The bottom line is, I love Ozzy, and this is Ozzy, through and through… So there is no disappointment involved.

the answer to the question of the last time i heard a record without non recycled riffs, the first 8 sabbath records

userfromhell… its an Ozzy album with Zack on guitar, and yes, thats how it sounds… some of the songs have a different sound to them, but the formula Ozzy’s uses is similiar to other albums, because its OZZY… if you are an Ozzy fan you will like the album, if you arne’t you wont…………
