I really didn’t notice that it was time for Chris Barnes to unleash more of his grizzly poetry upon the world until this package arrived from Metal Blade last week. From the packaging you expect the normal grim cover from SIX FEET UNDER and song titles to support the imagery (i.e. Thou Shall Kill, Resurrection Of The Rotten, and Zombie Executioner)
What can you expect from Commandment? In its short 34 minutes, you can expect one of the better offerings from SFU in a few years. While you will not find any genre morphing, or breakdowns, or anything new or revolutionary, you will find solid metal riffs in tracks like Doomsday, The Edge Of The Hatchet, and some serious headbanging in The Evil Eye. There is a sense of ‘jamming’ coming from the SFU crew on this album that was missing on previous efforts. Maybe it’s the fact that this was written in 12 days and the proper focus in the studio has given us a better offering this time around.

Great Album. Reminds me of Their “Haunted” Album. Chris Barnes Really shines in Torture Killer Though…He should make that his full time band now!

sounds like this album was made in two days. Copied riffs get boring.
