Nile – Ozzfest Off-Shows Announced
Tuesday, April 3, 2007
NILE have announced the following headlining off-shows with CHTHONIC from their appearance at Ozzfest this Summer:
July 29 – Lawrence, KS @ Bottleneck
August 21 – New York, NY @ B.B. King Blues Club w/ Skinless
I’m embarrassed, cause I really dont know.
Is Nile really that big of a band? I know they have been around for a while. Are they like a difinative death metal act?
I just didnt know they were big, cause they dont even have a fixed slot on the 2nd stage (25 min set only)
someone let me know how popular they are. Same goes for Behemoth and Lordi (who I think is only on main stage b/c of the size of their stage show).
Nile have headlined tours in the US for since 2002. I dont know how big they are in europe, but probably fairly big considering them coheadlined under slayer at wacken a few years ago.
on another note, I really hope Behemoth does some off dates as well, if not together with Nile.
dude i hope Nile can have off dates with Behemoth and Chthonic as one bill.
nile is pretty popular as far as death metal goes, as is behemoth.
but that’s in terms of death metal bands. in terms of ozzfest, neither is very popular.
exactly mate, they are prob very good for their genre, but that genre(s) are limiting and not popular
There are bands that would better “Fit the Bill” for the fest (keep in mind not BETTER bands, just better for ozzfest):
Bloodsimple
Will Haven
Chevelle
Static-X
Type O Negative
Devildriver
Shadows Fall
2Cents
Chimaira
Again, just these bands would bring in more of a crowd and neither are booked for big summer tour and they have new albums out or coming out
As awful live as they are, Nile would outdraw half those bands. You also have horrible taste in music. Congrats.
Nile could fill up any club better than all of those bands except for type o negative and Chevelle perhaps.
CHEVELLE? DEVILDRIVER? WTF
Static-X, Shadows Fall, and Chimaira can fill better than Nile can.
So I wonder if they are gonna do that one thing where they get a local band to open up every fest?
I thought Nile was good live the last time I saw them, even though his voice sounds like a crocodile growling. Skinless on the same bill? I’ll be there.
