Chris Cornell – Embarking On Spring Solo Tour
Billboard.com reports: As expected, Chris Cornell will embark on a spring solo tour to preview material from his upcoming Suretone/Interscope album, “Carry On.” The outing will begin April 6 in Las Vegas and run through May 2 in Los Angeles.
Cornell will also be dipping into his back catalog with TEMPLE OF THE DOG and SOUNDGARDEN; it has not yet been announced who will make up his backing band. “Carry On” arrives June 5; first single “No Such Thing” will hit U.S. rock radio outlets next week.
“In SOUNDGARDEN, the members weren’t that wild about touring,” Cornell tells Billboard.com. “Even in AUDIOSLAVE, it wasn’t always first and foremost. My family is geared toward it; that’s what I do and they’ll do it with me.” Cornell adds that he is excited to visit new parts of the world on the road. “I’ve played like two shows in my life in Latin America, with the exception of one or two shows SOUNDGARDEN played in Mexico,” he says.
