Despised Icon – Complete New Album

The Montreal-based deathcore six-piece DESPISED ICON have completed work on their sophomore Century Media release with acclaimed producer/former guitarist Yannick St-Amand (Beneath The Massacre, Ion Dissonance, Neuraxis). The new effort was mixed by the renowned Andy Sneap (Machine Head, Megadeth) and is currently scheduled for a May 22nd release. The group kicked off a three-week Canadian/U.S. tour this week as direct support to JOB FOR A COWBOY before heading to Europe in March with UNEARTH, JOB FOR A COWBOY, and DAATH. You can check out the tour dates online here.

DESPISED ICON just shot a new video for the track, “In The Arms of Perdition,” with director Jean-Philippe Bernier. This clip is a performance based offering that puts emphasis on the band’s frantic live intensity. Look for it to make its debut this Spring.

Alex Erian (vocals) checks in with the following report: “I can’t tell you how stoked we are to finally be back on the road after spending the last four months writing and recording. Andy Sneap is currently nailing the mix and everything sounds killer. I swear this will undoubtedly be our most punishing record yet. Expect to hear a new track in the next few weeks.

We just spent the entire weekend shooting a video for it at -40F on a secluded icy mountain near Quebec City. Our buddy JP is working his ass off on the video, which should premiere soon. If you can’t wait to hear it, make sure to check us out live because we’re definitely playing it every night. See you on the road!”
