KoRn – Hosting Virtual MTV Record Release Party Tonight; Featured on Jay Leno Tomorrow

KORN fans around the globe no longer have to fly to Los Angeles for a chance to meet the band. In a first for this revolutionary alternative rock band, KORN will host a virtual record release party in MTV Networks’ virtual world in anticipation of the imminent CD release of “MTV Unplugged: Korn” (in stores March 6). The party gets started tonight Wednesday, February 28 at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT, as the band members, who will be represented in-world by specially created avatars, unveil their new album, interact live with fans and screen behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive clips from their MTV Unplugged performance. KORN fans can join the band in-world by downloading the virtual world application for free at www.virtualkorn.mtv.com. MTV will also give away virtual t-shirts and posters to lucky KORN fans in-world.

MTV Unplugged: Korn” is now streaming online at unplugged.mtv.com and will premiere on air for the first time commercial free on MTV – Friday, March 2 at 11:30pm ET/PT.

In other band news, check out KORN tomorrow night, March 1 on NBC’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” performing one of their hits from the new MTV Unplugged record.     that’s incorrect. i work for the Tonight Show and we’ve had performances of more than 20 musicians easily. buckcherry is on friday btw.
