Scar Symmetry – Speak Out About Debut US Tour
Tuesday, February 13, 2007
Hailing from Sweden, SCAR SYMMETRY have been invited to join THE HAUNTED and DARK TRANQUILLITY on their co-headlining stint for The Century Family’s inaugural ”Metal For The Masses” tour. The line-up will also include Canada’s INTO ETERNITY. Sponsored by Decibel magazine, Draven, and Lambgoat, the tour’s moniker is derived from The Century Family’s annual Metal For The Masses compilation series, which is now on its fifth volume in the series and available exclusively through Hot Topic.
Checking in from his home in Gävle, SCAR SYMMETRY’s lead guitarist Per Nilsson shares his reaction to the band’s upcoming maiden tour of the U.S. & Canada and also makes a few predictions:
“So, finally, we get our first chance to tour North America. We’ve been awaiting this opportunity for some time now, and when the invitation came for us to join this tour package, we had no problem saying ‘HELL YEAH!!!’ The Haunted, Dark Tranquillity, Into Eternity and SCAR SYMMETRY - this must be every metalhead’s dream come true! A few things that are very likely to happen on this tour are: A) Kenneth [Seil, bassist] is going to drink too much; B) Jonas [Kjellgren, lead & rhythm guitar] is going to drink too much; C) Christian [Älvestam, lead singer] won’t drink at all to keep his voice in shape; and D) Jonas is going to shave most of his facial hair, leaving only a grand mustache, making him look like an old German geezer!”
Called “masters of melody, complexity, and aggression” by Kerrang! Magazine and praised by Metal Hammer for their ”sickeningly good riffery,” SCAR SYMMETRY are hitting the road in support of their 2006 sophomore album, Pitch Black Progress. The album climbed as high as #4 on the CMJ Loud Rock and #9 on FMQB charts. Their video for “The Illusionist” debuted on MTV2’s Headbangers Ball in July 2006.

They will steal the show at this concert.
Fuck that, just come to Arizona already! Can’t fucking believe they’re gonna skip out on us, but stop in CA like three fucking times! ARG!!!
I feel your pain scartr3k. They are swooping right past KC and Lawrence. So far this is the tour of the year and it sucks ass it’s not coming through
im hitting it up at toads the 27th but im pissed that Dark Tranquillity aint headlining
^^^ Yeah I feel your pain. The Haunted should really be opening. Peter Dolving is a myspace nutcase.
Yep… Dark Tranquillity needs to headline this. Scar Symmetry is a pretty solid addition to this tour… they are sort of Soilwork clones, but it’s alright.
But… no Ohio date to speak of :(
We should create a petition. Just add like three or four more spots. Especially if you’re gonna be in CA, like just stop in AZ, I ain’t askin’ much here! :(
