Ozzfest 2007 – Hint at Ticket Distribution Information
The San Jose Mercury News is reporting that OZZFEST 2007 tickets “would be paid for and distributed by sponsors, such as Jagermeister, which will present acts at the second stage, located in amphitheater parking lots.”
“All I can say is stay tuned,” said Michael Guarracino, with Osbourne’s management firm.
Last year, though, she said, the fees earned by bands, including about $325,000 a show for the group SYSTEM OF A DOWN, almost sank the festival.
“They’re taking four years off, we paid them so much, and we’re still working,” she said. “I’m not doing that again.”
She said the idea to cut the ticket price to zero happened during a meeting with Michael Rapino, CEO of concert promoter Live Nation.
They considered playing smaller indoor venues, or charging $5 or $10 a ticket, when, finally, they decided to put on the show for free.
“There is enough for everyone. . . . The bands can do other gigs on the road. They can sell their merchandise and their music.”

Ppl under 21 have to buy a case of Monster Energy Drink and for thoses over 21 a liter of Jager and then you will get your golden ticket.
I wonder if the person that does their deed to get a lawn seat will have to the same as the person that gets a 2nd row seat?
They said today seats will be first come, first serve. If you leave at anytime, your seat’s up for grabs. No word if your friend or date, etc. can hold your seat.
Has anyone thought that this is a response to them loosing the headliner Black Sabbath to a sold out Heaven and Hell tour?

system $325,000 shows how sad the headliners are fuck them dont need them. thats what made sounds of the underground badass the first year
The catch is $90 tees. Duh.
Iron maiden at $100,000 per night is much more valuable than soad for $325,000 and sharon knows that today. too bad it doesnt matter much.
I think theres a good chance mastodon will be a 2nd stage headliner or main stage this year. I know they would never pay to play and their one of the bands i think mentioned at least once that they didn’t like how expensive tickets were for ozzfest. I’ve noticed many really good bands with that complaint, I actually think this years bands might be able to compete with that awesome Ozzfest 2004 lineup. It better kick the shit out of ‘06 or I’ll either not go[again] or ill get my FREE ticket just to see Ozzy headline at randalls island.
I would be willing to pay to see ozzfest at any time so all i can say is Thank you Ozzy and Sharon…
