Ozzfest 2007 – Alice in Chains Confirmed to Headline Main Stage?

As the rumor mill starts to churn once again for the summer’s longest running touring metal festival, OZZFEST 2007, the biggest name to drop out of the sky is ALICE IN CHAINS. The band is reported to have recently wrapped up a deal that will see them headline this year’s main stage. Currently signed to Colombia Records, the Jerry Cantrell led outfit is now fronted by former COMES WITH THE FALL vocalist William DuVall.

For those out of the loop on the band’s current lineup, ALICE IN CHAINS is:

Jerry Cantrell – lead guitars, vocals
Mike Inez - bass
Sean Kinney - drums
William DuVall - vocals, rhythm guitars

More information regarding the festival and it’s rumored participants is expected later this week.

  2. 57Sprinklesofpain says:

This would be kinda cool but anything less then Black Sabbath just is a disappointment.

  3. WOLVIE says:

I hear Killswitch Engage and either Down or Hell Yeah will be on the fest too. Sounds like they are off to a better start than last year.

  4. dalenkwint says:

Heaven and Hell should headline :P

  5. theWolfisLOOSE says:

It sounds better than last year, but that really is not saying much. How about some SLAYER!

I’m already sold. AIC has always been my favorite band, and I always wanted to see them. Even though Layne’s not with them anymore, I’ll still see them while I have the chance.

P.S., now that Rage Against The Machine has returned, I’d like to see them on the bill as well

  7. Lumbergh says:

    just give it up ozzy.

  8. 57Sprinklesofpain says:

If Rage is on the Fest i will be sick.

Lumbergh, why should he give it up? He can still sing anyone who saw him last year on the fest will tell you that. Dont be such POOPHOLE

  9. jnzombie says:

really fucking awesome or kinda lame (without layne)?

    i cant decide

id love to see RATM tho

  10. Demo Dick says:

I’d rather jam pencils in my ears than see RATM live. Either way I’d end up deaf, but if I go with the pencils it would be MUCH less painful.

    Oh lord. Pass on rumors

  12. screename1414 says:

Just let Rage headline it. Have mastodon play main stage, they’re really hot right now and could benefit from more exposure. Down would be great, and so would something like opeth, as long as they got at least 40 minutes, it would show those nu metal fucks what its all about. But Alice in Chains isnt the same without layne, no matter if you like them or not. Heres an idea: Let dream theater play it, that would be sweet.

  13. rammstien says:

rammstein needs to be on main stage and mushuga

  14. screename1414 says:

    spell meshuggah right, moron.

  15. Demo Dick says:

Good fucking call on the Rammstein.

  16. rammstien says:

fuck yeah volkerball is the shit

  17. Wowza says:

Yeah, I like the Heaven And Hell. Rage would be tight too, but I also foresee:

    Hellyeah ( Mudvayne/Pantera/Nothingface – April release)
    Velvet Revolver (same…April)
    Bloodsimple (Late Spring/Early Summer)
    Mastodon
    Static-X (same..April)
    Another Animal (Godsmack sans Sully)
    Otep
    Isis
Daughters of Mara (new metal band on Virgin=$$$)

Are all these bands awesome? No. But they all make sense due to release dates and pushes.

  18. screename1414 says:

    Isis would be amazing.

  19. ThisIsNot says:

I don’t know if I would want to see them on Ozzfest, I don’t know if they would really fit with the rest of the bands on tour. I think they would be better as openers for the headliners or the band that goes on after the main stage opening band. I don’t know, they can fit and they can’t.

I think I would much rather see Hellyeah as there is some talent in that band (to say the least).

  20. dalenkwint says:

Seriously: It would be pretty cool if Heaven and Hell got on.

  21. ELPAZ says:

ALICE IN CHAINS WOULD BE GOOD, NOT GREAT, BUT GOOD TO HEADLINE OZZFEST. ALSO, I HEARD DOWN MIGHT BE IN AS WELL. HELL YEAH WOULD FIT IN NICELY. CALL ME CRAZY, BUT I’D LIKE GOJIRA TO COME OUT ON THIS YEAR’S OZZFEST.

  22. bstud82 says:

How about Children of Bodom???? or MANOWAR!!!

  23. JudasPriest666 says:

i heard that Priest is comming out with a new record and the ruled last time they came with ozzfest why not again this year. And no offense to anyone but AIC is not the kind of music i want to hear at ozzfest, now Godsmack is soupposed to have a new record coming out they would fit nicly into the realm of ozzfest and Rage blows screw them on ozzfest
