A product of the western USA, Kaddisfly are preparing to release part two in their storytelling trilogy of releases. Under the guise of “Set Sail the Prairie”, it follows the highly acclaimed “Buy Our Intention; We’ll Buy You A Unicorn” full-length, as well as the “Four Seasons” taster EP. A very progressive and rock oriented release, this very honest, calm, and open disc is schedule for release on March 6, 2007. Following the creative notion of a journey around the world, the album’s artwork is laid out as journal entries, and the disc halved into summer and winter solstices, as found on the Gregorian calendar. For those new to the Oregon based group, Kaddisfly are a 5-piece that is a mix between Incubus, Coldplay, and any given number of today’s relevant indie alt-rock bands. This could be one for those looking to calm themselves down after a hefty dose of metal, and would definitely sit well with any fan of dredg. Providing overpowering vocal melodies and a very surreal mix of instruments, Kaddisfly are a band for the curious and experimental.
