City Sleep – Change Trustkill Debut Album Title for Third Time
CITY SLEEP have posted the following news tidbit surrounding another change in album title:
“In accordance with the signing of our new record contract with Trustkill Records, we have once again made the decision to change the title of our debut album. As you recall, it was originally going to be called WALKERS RIDGE, then it was going to be HOTEL, but now it is going to be titled SLEEP WITH ME. I want to make this clear so when you go to the record store you’re not looking for WALKER’S RIDGE or HOTEL. The title of our debut album is SLEEP WITH ME.”
“In hind sight, this should have been a no-brainer from the beginning. The title SLEEP WITH ME encompasses everything City Sleeps as a band is aboutit is basically a proclamation of keeping hopes, dreams, and love alive (in the most rock-n-roll way of course). The album’s past title was brought on by the fact that each of the 13 tracks was written while in a hotel room in Los Angeles. However, after a discussion with our new record company, SLEEP WITH ME as the title track has now become official.”
CITY SLEEP’s debut album was produced by John Feldmann and will be released through Trustkill Records/RED Distro. sometime of Spring 2007.
If it had been called HOTEL I would have seen it, and if it had a cool cover might have bought it straight from the rack to give it a chance.
Now if I see a CD called "Sleep with Me" I'm grabbing it and showing it to people laughing, but not buying.
Emo, to you, is wrong.
'Hotel' isnt an emo album name, I kinda dig it for some reason.
Sleep With Me, however, is weak as hiz-zell
Ok, here goes…
Emo, to me, sounds like regular pop-punk music, but whinier. Most of the people who play in emo bands wear really tight pants, lots of makeup, and they swoop their hair to the side, like Flock of Seagulls. Most of the lyrics talk about relationships, mostly the end of them. If you want to hear what emo sounds like, listen to My Chemical Romance, the two most recent Lostprophets albums, Underoath, AFI, and millions of other bands, most of which have album titles like "Sleep With Me", or "Love Like Winter", or "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love", "Razorblades and MySpace", etc. Is that good enough?
7StringSlaughter, define emo please.
And this is worthless shit news and this band is a joke, especially since they are worrying about their album title.
Translation: "Our last two album titles didn't sound emo enough, so our new label made us change it."
