SNOW PATROL have become the first UK guitar band in 13 years to break the Top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with single “Chasing Cars”. The band have just finished an all-conquering North American tour, where “Chasing Cars” is all over national radio. Digitally, the song has sold a chart-topping 665,000 units Stateside and the album “Eyes Open” is No.29 in the Top Current Albums (certified Gold).

In the UK, “Eyes Open” is certified Triple Platinum and is days away from selling 1,000,000 copies. It is the second biggest selling album in the UK after the ARCTIC MONKEYS and has hit the #1 spot no less than 3 times since release in May.

The band perform new single “Set The Fire To The Third Bar” featuring Martha Wainwright on both Jonathan Ross this Friday (October 6) and Channel 4’s Live At Abbey Road (airing in November). The single is released on November 13.

SNOW PATROL have contributed a track to the Belle & Sebastian compiled ‘Colours Are Brighter’ album – a charity album of children’s songs in aid of Save The Children – which is released on October 16th. Their rendition of ‘I Am An Astronaut’ was recorded especially for this album.

Following the release of “Set The Fire To The Third Bar”, the Patrol cap off their amazing year with a Sold Out UK arena tour including 2 nights at Wembley.
