Divided By Zero – Nominated for Two San Diego Music Awards

San Diego based DIVIDED BY ZERO have been nominated for two San Diego Music Awards for their album, The Black Sea. The group was nominated in the “Best Hard Rock” and “Best Hard Rock Album” categories.

Nominated alongside DIVIDED BY ZERO in the “Best Hard Rock Album” was Mower’s “Not For You”, Earthless “Sonic Prayer”, Goblin Cock “Bagged & Boarded”, Nihilist “Call Down the Thunder” and The Accident Experiment “United We Fear”, featuring ex-POD guitarist Marcos Curiel.

Also nominated in the “Best Hard Rock” category were Benedictum, Cattle, Decapitation, Media Lab, Mower and Underminded.

“It’s exciting to be nominated in the same category as our friends in MOWER, MEDIA LAB, and THE ACCIDENT EXPERIMENT,” says DIVIDED BY ZERO frontman Zach Goode. “It’s always nice to win, but if any of our friends gets it, it brings attention to this awesome San Diego heavy music scene and that’s the most important thing.”

DIVIDED BY ZERO’s new album The Black Sea was produced by ex-SNOT/SOULFLY guitarist Mikey Doling and was the first album released through Sik World Records.

Doling recently commented on his work with the band by saying, “When I produce a record I generally take control and give a lot of direction, but with these guys it was hard to find my place as a leader because they’re so equal as far as great song writers and musicians so I found my self more as a 6th member for a month,” he said. “Of course I did find a lot of input for the record but was very careful not to over step their vision because they had an awesome plan and I was there just to help execute it.”

In the meantime, the band has also uploaded four tracks from The Black Sea to their My Space website at the following location: www.myspace.com/dividedbyzero
