Seether – Vocalist Shaun Morgan Admits Himself to Rehab – Drops off Staind Tour

Lead singer of SEETHER, Shaun Morgan, plans to enter rehab “to attack what he sees as a dependence on a combination of substances,” the band’s label, Wind-Up Records, announced July 26.

The rock group, which recently issued a live, unplugged album dubbed “One Cold Night,” was scheduled to kick off an acoustic tour next month in support of STAIND, but SEETHER has called off plans to appear on that trek. One appearance is remains the band’s schedule this week – on a bill in Deer Island, OR, with ALICE IN CHAINS and BUCKCHERRY – and SEETHER plans to perform as scheduled.

“I’m deeply sorry that this news comes right before a planned tour, especially one that I was so excited about, and I hope that everyone understands,” Morgan said in a press release. “I need help with addictions that I can’t kick on my own. These things are making me sick, and could potentially harm me permanently, so I need to take care of them as soon as possible. I hope the tour goes well, and we hope to be on the road again soon. Thank you again for your understanding and support.”
