Satyricon – Now, Diabolical

Satyricon, as expected from a high quality band such as this, takes its chosen genre and makes it its own. While not purely black metal, I suppose, Satyricon is nothing short of a bad-ass black metal act. It finds its strengths in going for rock-based and thrash structures, tight grooves and strong metal melody in a sound that smacks of Venom updated to today and outstripped by miles in the genre they helped create. Venom, say hello to Satyricon. “Now, Diabolical” is a riveting, headbanging riff on the BM genre. Great metal.
