Mercenary’s sound is lushly gorgeous, executing tightly knit metal compositions with skilled songwriting and crisp musicianship. Rough and clean vocals share time over music that thrives with power metal and prog tendencies, churning out big melodies and equally big riffs. The clean vocals pull off being high as hell but totally accessible. Intelligence suffuses every drop of luscious metal on display here as thrash, prog and power ally to get the blood pumping.
