The Sword – Announce Headlining Tour – Torche, Tarantula A.D. to Support
THE SWORD have announced a U.S. headlining tour in support of their debut album, “Age of Winters”. The dynamic quartet will launch a three week U.S. tour beginning March 29 at the Masquerade in Tampa, FL. The tour is scheduled to conclude April 20 in the band’s home town of Austin, TX, with additional dates pending. Support on THE SWORD tour will be provided by TORCHE and label mates TARANTULA A.D.
THE SWORD’s “Age of Winters” has has met to widespread critical acclaim in the weeks since its February release. The album has been hailed as “the new classic-Black Sabbath platter you have been waiting forever for the old Sabs to make” by Rolling Stone, and the band has been named as one of Billboard Magazine’s 2006 “Faces to Watch” and an MTV News “You Hear It First” artist.
Additionally, THE SWORD has contributed a new song to the forthcoming “INVADERS” compilation, set for release on April 25 via Kemado Records. Entitled “Under the Boughs”, the song joins seventeen tracks of rare and unreleased material from PELICAN, WOLFMOTHER, HIGH ON FIRE, WITCH amongst others.
