Ultralord – We Hate You and Hope You Die

OK, let’s forget the fact that the band’s name just makes me think of Jimmy Neutron’s friend’s favorite toy and TV show and move on, shall we? Ultralord, as you may have guessed from the CD title, is pretty much an evil band. The fact that the cover features a demonic looking hand flipping you off in front of a pentagram also points in this direction. The music clenches the deal. Sneering, snarling vocals and heavy aggression that moves from slow, dark and heavy to fast and thrashy (and features some wicked solo guitar sickenss) all bombard the listener from PLAY onward. Kind of defiant of classification, it’s best left at this: Ultralord is just raw, loud heavy metal with your worst interests at heart. Which means it’s really you’re best interests. Or something.
