In Flames – Land at #58 on Billboard Charts – 24,000 Sold – Nail European Charts
IN FLAMES‘ new release, “Come Clarity” debuted at #58 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart this week with sales just under 24,000 copies. Come Clarity, the influential Swedish quintet’s debut release for Ferret Music, and ninth full length album overall, is the highest charting record in both the band and label’s sales history. This is more than double the first-week tally registered by the group’s last CD, “Soundtrack To Your Escape” (released in April 2004 via Nuclear Blast), which entered the chart at No. 145 (with sales of just under 11,000).
“Come Clarity” is an album that has met to widespread critical acclaim and solidified IN FLAMES‘ place as leaders of the modern day heavy music movement. The release has been called “a coordinated stampede” by Billboard and “A rare blend of speed, precision, heaviness and melody” by the Chicago Tribune.
On the topic if the impressive IN FLAMES chart debut(s), Transworld Rock / Pop Buyer Mark Hudson comments, “This always looked to be a breakout album for IN FLAMES. The band had to come up with a great record. Ferret, their new label, had to come up with a great set up. Both delivered.”
“Come Clarity” currently sits atop the college radio and commercial specialty Hard Rock charts for the second consecutive week. Propelled by the red-hot single and video “Take This Life”, Come Clarity is #1 on the CMJ Loud Rock and FMQB Metal Detector charts, as well as the CMJ Loud Rock Select Albums, Mediaguide Metal Specialty Albums and Mediaguide Metal Specialty Songs charts, respectively.
Outside of the U.S., “Come Clarity” debuted at #1 on the Swedish charts, #1 in Finland, #6 in Germany, #27 in Norway and #67 in the United Kingdom. On February 8, IN FLAMES was presented with a Swedish Grammy when they won the Swedish government’s “Exportation Award”, to which Swedish economy minister Thomas Östros commented, “Thanks to In Flames, Sweden now have a Metal band in the absolute world elite.” IN FLAMES is the first metal band ever to win the prestigious award.
IN FLAMES is currently in the midst of a sold out North American headlining tour. The band plays New York City’s Webster Hall this evening.
Good for them.

No wit here…

That's because In Flames is the only Ferret artist that's worth a shit.
That's right, they are worth shit.

Better late then never
*insert obligitory "omg ferret? wtf in flames = emo" comment here*
I know this burns the asses of the In Flames "fans" who think In Flames now suck because they no longer sound like they did on JESTER RACE, but this album is in fact their best ever. Yes, even better than the almighty COLONY, in my opinion.
I don't know about that. There are quite a few parts on Come Clarity that just flat out annoy me. But that's cool that there are still people out there besides me that like to support them.
I wouldn't argue against anybody who says that COLONY or CLAYMAN is better than the new one, they are both fantastic pieces of metal. I am just absolutely in love with COME CLARITY right now, and I hope more people are as well.
Not better than Colony, Whoracle or Clayman, but more enjoyable than Reroute or Soundtrack. Good for them!
No album that In Flames will ever put out after Colony can match the first 4. He swallowed just a bit too much of Korn's semen and that was that. His growl is pathetic compared to what it used to be and his cleans are just HORRID now. Scream is the worst recorded In Flames song of all time. The chick vocals song is the only one I semi-enjoyed. But I'm glad In Flames keep putting shit albums that the Hot Topic kids buy up so when the new Dark Tranquillity album comes out I won't have any problem finding it. :]
I agree that Scream is probably my least favorite song on the album, along with Come Clarity just because his voice annoys me in that song. And the chorus in scream sucks. But I'm pretty obsessed with the new album.
I really give it to them…the clean vocals are ehhhh I enjoy some and hate some but musicaly this CD is amazing. Maybe not their best album but hell at least it doesn't suck especially after being around for nine albums…I salute them for this effort, it's really hard to find good non-ripoff metal now-a-days, and this is one of them.
Who cares if any band can ever match their first four albums? Whether it's Metallica, Black Sabbath, In Flames, or one of the thousand other bands that people say that about, who cares? That argument is so tired and old. Beating a dead horse will never get you anywhere. Unless you're Tom Green, then it'll make you a few mil.

Blood Has Been Shed and Madball are both great bands and they are on Ferret.
Hey Deathchain, let's hear your vocals. The three songs on your band's site are all instrumentals. You still play with them?
Seriously guys, the new Atreyu is more metal than this album.
Blood Has Been Shed and Madball both blow in comparison with In Flames though.
They probably have a cooler fanbase though.

Well, you convinced me, i now hate those bands …yawn
Glad I could be of service.
Everyone knows that the more albums you sell the more you sell out…You have to remember that its a business to these guys…its how they make their money…I hate it as much as everyone but the record companies and the producers all have their hands in the sound…and the more mainstream it sounds the more it sells…and thats why in flames continues to sell (out) The higher they go up in the charts the more they will tone their music down… I remember when metal wasnt about album sales and money..it was about the music.. guess thats gone…
