METALLICA have lined up the following European appearances:
June 3 – Nurburgring, GER @ Rock Am Ring Festival
June 4 – Nurnberg, GER @ Rock Im Park Festival
June 8 – Arnhem, HOL @ Gelredome
June 10 – Donington, UK @ Download Festival
June 11 – Dublin, IRE @ Download Festival
More dates are expected to be announced shortly.

Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park are 3 day festivals
This is another one of those bands that as a metalhead, I feel obligated to go see at some point in my life (up there with Slayer, Sabbath, etc.). If only tickets to see them were a little more in the "broke college kid" realm.
Ohh yes. I cant wait for this summer. Tool, Metallica, and Slayer tours are hopefully comming….all with new shit comming out soon too.
I suggest those that now "hate" Metallica and haven't seen them, go. They play mostly older stuff.
Last tour they even broke old songs that haven't played in years. Damage, Inc., Dyers Eve, Hit The Lights, Orion, etc.

Some of those festivals must get boring, the headliner just rotates between Iron Maiden and Metallica each year.
their tour ends june 11th, that is a little stange cosidering ozzfest start right around that time.I header on waaf(local radio station) that system of a down is headlining ozzfest.Maybe soad will headline the second stage and mettalica will headline the main stage.
I just don't see Metallica headlining Ozzfest…I mean, it COULD happen, but I just don't see it.

Also, Metallica won't be kissing Sharon's ass for a whole summer. Their one of few "metal" bands that doesn't have to. They can do their own more succesful tour.

Sounds like they just might be open for that ozzfest slot. I wouldn't be surprised, but what would happen when on the Ozzy dates, surely they'd be too bitchy to have a shortened co-headlining set. I can already see the tears!
oh and to ADD1369, they wont have to kiss sharons ass, they will probably make like $5 mil from sharon. I think Maiden was making somewhere like $100,000 per night co-headlining, + another $100,000 on days they did a pathetic headlining set that included 1 or 2 extra songs(they could have done a bit more for the fans, such as me, and not bolt after 60 minutes)
BTW: I personally will probably opt for anything but Ozzfest this year, I really dont think it would be my sort of thing. I believe many people will agree with me in the end.
like any other metallica fan, i will definitely see them when they play live. i've seen them 7 times. but goddamnit, i'd rather have them working on their new album constantly. i can wait for the tour dates.
