Street Drum Corps – Announce Release of S/T Debut Through WARCON on Feb. 21

The STREET DRUM CORPS have announced that, in conjunction with their performance on this year’s Taste of Chaos Tour, that they will be releasing their much-anticipated, self-titled debut album February 21 through WARCON Enterprises. The CD was produced by DJ Lethal (LIMP BIZKIT, ex-HOUSE OF PAIN) and features eight songs plus a free behind-the-scenes DVD with over 48 minutes of live concert and backstage footage.

Using both conventional and unusual instruments such as hand drums, acoustic drum kits, marching band equipment and even household items like buckets, kitchenware and recycled aluminum garbage cans, the STREET DRUM CORPS have been gaining tremendous success within the punk and rock communities since their thunderous performances on last summer’s Warped Tour. So much so, in fact, that Warped Tour Founder Kevin Lyman, who fondly describes their style as “Punk Rock STOMP,” invited the trio to join the Taste of Chaos Tour this winter.

“There is just something inspiring and remarkable about them,” says Lyman. “I am expecting great things from these guys.”

He’s not the only one. So impressed by STREET DRUM CORPS after seeing them on Warped last year, THE USED frontman Bert McCracken invited the group to join him on the road for his entire North American tour and even recorded a new version of the JOHN LENNON classic “Happy Christmas, War is Over” with them for this season’s “Taste of Christmas” album (WARCON Records).

McCracken took his support for them even further when he arranged for a special viewing of the “Happy Christmas, War is Over” video for Yoko Ono who, after being so impressed by their precision and talent, immediately requested that the STREET DRUM CORPS perform at the 2005 Grammy Award celebration in honor of her late husband on the 25th anniversary of his death.

A true milestone for any band, the show was even more meaningful for the SDC who has only been together for two years. Formed in 2004 to “search for different sounds and make the world a better place,” according to co-founder Bobby Alt, the group comprises Bobby Alt, Adam Alt and Frank Zummo, all of which are members of S.T.U.N., CIRCUS MINOR and THE START.

Now, gearing up for the Taste of Chaos Tour which kicks off February 16th in San Diego, the STREET DRUM CORPS is looking forward to another successful year. One that actually started with a special guest appearance with Korn for their tour kick off party in Hollywood and a cameo in CBS’ new hit show “Love Monkey”.

The album, which will be available at all Taste of Chaos shows as well as independent and major retail chains, contains eight tracks, including “Achilles” featuring STOMP’s John Sawicki. Other songs include:

1. Police Beat Introduction
2. Wrecks
3. Rabbit
4. Street Drum Corps
5. Body Sounds 101
6. Achilles (feat. John Sawicki of Stomp)
7. Flaco 81
8. Bang!
