Avenged Sevenfold – Approached for Ozzfest 2006 – Headliners Yet to Be Named…
AVENGED SEVENFOLD look to be the second band from Orange County to be courted by the Osbourne camp for a slot on this year’s edition of the famed OZZFEST tour. According to Billboard.com, the SoCal boys join hometown heroes ATREYU in receiving approaches from Sharon and Co. Neither band, however, has committed to the 2006 Summer-long festival, and are heartily weighing their options.
According to AVENGED SEVENFOLD frontman Matt Shadows in a article, “We’re not going to do a Vans Warped run, we’re probably going to go to Europe but there are a lot of tours going on. We’re not really sure what’s going on with Ozzfest. They’ve been offering stuff but we’re not really sure who is headlining. They won’t tell us and they want us to commit now but we won’t do that until we know who is headlining. We might just get out of the country and do a [U.S.] tour after the summer.”
OZZFEST 2004 alumns EVERY TIME I DIE, on the other hand, have been confirmed for the Vans Warped Tour, with several other OZZFEST alumns from years past also expected to reveal their Summer plans very shortly. More news soon.
According to Nielsen SoundScan, AVENGED SEVENFOLD has sold upwards of 396,000 copies in the United States of their latest release “City of Evil”.

then i hope ozzfest gets rid of the metalcore and nu metal bands and start having more older band cause the bands in will's list that i like are anthrax and fear factory (and i already saw fear factory)
get more older bands like slayer motorhead sepultura judas priest venom etc.etc. then ill be there

I personal like a7x and I dont care people think! Most people dont like them because of their newer music, it is a lot more emo sounding then the old stuff but I dont care I like them anyways, they rock!
HELL YA!!! Avenged Sevenfold for Ozzfest!! That would be awesome… People are downing their last album City of Evil, BUT Matt Shadows (vocalist) had to sing more due to vocal chord problems.. A7X would tear Ozzfest apart… I have put them on the Ozzfest survey for the last 3 years.. Rock on A7X
