Pink Floyd – Top Planet Rock’s Poll of “Greatest Rock Act of All Time”

PINK FLOYD have been named the greatest rock act of all time in a poll of 58,000 fans in the UK. The band, whose classic line-up reunited at Live 8 in July, beat LED ZEPPELIN into second place.
The remainder of the top 10 was as follows:
#3 – The Rolling Stones
#4 – The Who
#5 – AC/DC
#6 – U2
#7 – Guns ‘n’ Roses
#8 – Nirvana
#9 – Bon Jovi
#10 -Jimi Hendrix
The poll, run by digital radio station Planet Rock, also named the 70’s as the golden age of rock.

its my personal opinion that U2 should have been number 1, but whatever. Pink Floyd deserves it.
Half the list consists of some of the most boring bands of all time. Pink Floyd being at the top.

Only bands worth listening to on that list are U2, The Rolling Stones, and Bon Jovi. The rest are booooooooring.
The fact Nirvana is on the list makes it totally worthless.

Nirvana being top anything besides one of the top worst and most overrated bands shouldn't be taken seriously. It's so funny how people think Nirvana was so great when they were the reason why it's "okay" to have simple song structures, 3 min songs and no solos. Nirvana was cheap, poorly written music, then again most of the music accepted by the masses blows dick. Nirvana over Jimi Hendrix? Give me a fucking break, this was definitely rigged.

Hmm, even though this is a matter of an opinion, your ass is so wrong. Jimi Hendrix is one of the first guitar gods who had so much potential and died so young. The guy pumped himself full of narcotics; maybe it was for the better since he is remembered for dying at his peak. Some stars are better off leaving a legacy at their heightened status because unfortunately some icons and or bands over-do it and kill what they once were. Look at U2, for example. Out of these top bands, I honestly find them to be as entertaining a puddle of water. What was that album, Vertigo? Honestly, could anything on that album be interesting or be deemed as a great rock and roll act let alone part of the greatest rock and roll act? Jimi Fucking Hendrix played with his teeth!

With all due respect to AC/DC they have to be the most boring rock band of all time. The most exciting band on that list is The Who, they rip live, even in their 50s/60s.
