i'll probably get shitted on for what i'm about to say but whatever. If you read In Flames lyrics some are metaphorically emo and can be interpreted as so. Look at the lyrics for "Only for the weak." the song title itself subtly hints at that or anything from Clayman. Some songs on Colony are also like that, "ordinary story" and "coerced coexistance." They just weren't so blatant as they are now. sinking into desperation and losing your mind is just as emo as crying cause your girlfriend left you.
who gives a shit about artwork on the cover? I don't spend countless hours looking at a stupid cover picture, I spend hours listening to the music. As long as the music is good, I'm happy….that and if they come to KC

Penisaur, Derek Hess also did artwork for Matchbook Romance, Motion City Soundtrack, From Autumn to Ashes, and a horde of other hardcore/emo bands. SteveO was describing the artwork itself, not the artist. Moron.
I like the artwork, but it just seems like the furthest from what In Flames should be.

Derek Hess did artwork for a tour poster for Coalesce. That is a far from emo as you can possibly get.
That's right, just skip NYC… play near Albany and in Worcester, but fuck half of Jersey and NY..
Hess has done tour posters for countless bands, he did a pretty sweet Pantera/Type O Negative one.
