The Gathering – New Music Online – Another Studio Update
THE GATHERING’s lead singer Anneke van Giersbergen offers up another update from the studio where the band is recording their upcoming album. On a posting via the band’s journal on their website she writes:
“Dear people,
Yesterday we had a great surprise visit from a few members of ‘Racoon’ a fellow Dutch band. Attie, our producer mixed and mastered their latest album ‘Another Day’, which now turned gold. They came over to bring Attie one of these gold ones to decorate his studio-walls.
We enjoyed a large whipped-cream pie, champagne and a great evening together. Of course we hope that whatever Attie touches now will turn gold again :-) The recording process is rolling still as well. Today we worked really hard on one particular song. It’s one of our favourites. Nice up-tempo and euphoric even! We also have some really moody pieces.
Just what you can expect from a Gathering album…..But different :-)
Many greetings!
Anneke”
As mentioned above, THE GATHERING is currently in the studio — a professional home-made studio built within a church in the small town of Maurik – recording their 9th studio album with producer Attie Bauw, whom they worked with on 1998’s How To Measure A Planet?
The album is scheduled to surface sometime in the spring on the band’s own label Psychonaut Records (available on The End Records in North America), with a tour to follow around the same time in South America and the U.S.
