Susperia – Hit Top 20 in Norway With EP Release
Melodic metallers SUSPERIA, have taken their heavy sounds to the masses in their native Norway with the release of their new EP ‘Devil May Care’. The band entered the singles charts for the first time in their career last week when the EP made it’s debut at Number 21 on Norway’s Official ‘Hit List’. The EP has climbed a further two places to Number 19 in the past seven days. As a result, the band have created history by becoming the first home grown act in the metal genre to achieve a Top 20 hit in the country. In the process they have caused a stir among the pop orientated releases that usually dominates the Norwegian charts. The band currently lie between MARIAH CAREY and KELLY CLARKSON in a chart that also features DEPECHE MODE and ROBBIE WILLIAMS.
Bass guitarist Memnock commented with a wry grin that “It’s nice to be the thorn between two roses. On a serious note though, this is a great achievement for Susperia and it’s good to see that Norwegian metal acts are being recognised by a wider audience. It’s nice to make the popstars feel a little uncomfortable once in a while”
