Pink Floyd – First Report from Live 8 – Pictures Surface

PINK FLOYD’s reunion show (the first in 24 years) at Hyde Park in London, England as part of the Live 8 special to help tackle the global issue of poverty in Africa has been touted a success. Members of PINK FLOYD put aside their long-standing personal differences to reunite for Live 8, with Roger Waters rejoining the group he helped create. The BBC reports that out of all the artists performing on the day, “If there was one historic musical moment, this was it – the reconciliation of Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters. They looked like they had never been away and the sublime magnificence of their songs swept across the audience”. A picture of the group onstage can be seen here, and here.
