Starwood – If It Ain’t Broke, Break It!

Judging by the title of the album, you might be inclined to think
that you are in for a snotty punk attitude ride, but this release is
much more Poison than Pistols. Starwood take a page from the
Hanoi Rocks songbook on this album, which is packed with
the type of teenage angst that fueled the fires of bands like
Guns and Roses, L.A. Guns and Motley Crue’s early affairs.
‘Won’t Back Down’ features a break that is largely reminiscent
of early KISS, while the lyrics take on a rebellious tone. The bands
choruses are memorable and on ‘What’s Your Damage’ the band
invokes the much ignored Rock City Angels. The fact is that
Starwood succeed in interweaving these various influences into
some great, quality rock music.
There is a Sunset Strip feel to these songs that no band has
managed to capture in some time without coming off as clich
