It Dies Today – The Caitiff Choir

Author: Alan Wierdak

Hailing from Buffalo, NY, It Dies Today has released their Trustkill debut, The Caitiff Choir, the follow up to their 6 song Forever Scorned EP. The Caitiff Choir is 11 songs of, unfortunately, almost the exact same thing. It Dies Today is a great example of the metalcore format with metal riffs, a good balance of harsh screams, and clean vocals, catchy hooks, and those powerfully predictable, meaty breakdowns. Compared to their Life Sentence Records EP, there isn’t too much of a difference, aside from cleanly sung track “The Radiance”, the standout melodic track, which you’ll find to be extremely catchy. If you’re on the hunt for the more groundbreaking, and original, keep hunting. However, for any fans of very catchy, well produced, ‘heard it before’ metalcore, look no further than the new It Dies Today, as this album was made for the dance floor. The Caitiff Choir is guaranteed to have everything most metalcore fans want in an album, but it’s nothing you haven’t already heard.

5/10.
